Top Notch Kennels presents….

LEARNING TO LEAD

Understanding and Implementing

Canine Leadership, to Promote Better

Behavior and a Harmonious Relationship

Speaker:   Lisa Moore, CPDT

Living with, understanding and training your dog is much more enjoyable when you are an effective Leader.  Unlike attaining ‘dominance’, learning to Lead is achieved through generosity, praise and rewards, not physical correction or punishment.  This seminar conveys the essential points to becoming your dog’s Leader, including defining, controlling and teaching your dog to ‘earn’ what he considers positive reinforcers.  Other specifics covered in this discussion include:

  • Leading, training and even ‘correcting’ your dog in a non-confrontational way

  • Why physical punishment backfires, and the troubles that can arise when applying it

  • Growling:  When is it ok?  What does it mean?  What to do if your dog growls at you

  • Being a pack Leader – managing multiple dogs and their behavior in the home

  • Building trust and living in harmony with your canine friend

  • Leadership exercises and techniques:  Easy to apply, and fun for you and your dog
