Requirements
Vaccinations:
Dogs need to be current on their vaccinations in order to take part
in any Top Notch Service, including Boarding, Daycare,
Grooming and Training. Puppies must be on a veterinarian administered
vaccination program. We require current certification on the
following vaccines:
-
DHLP-P (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Leptosporosis, and Parvo);
A series required for puppies, then 1 year booster, and then required every 3 years.
-
Rabies; Given as a puppy when eligible, then 1 year
booster, and then required every 3 years.
-
Bordetella (Canine Bronchitis); Required
every 6 months for our Boarding, Daycare and Grooming
Guests. Also, required
for our Training Class Clients. We
recommend alternating between injection and intranasal
administration.
FACTS
about Canine Cough
-
Canine tracheo-bronchitis or “canine cough” occurs in situations
where dogs have contact with other dogs, including dog parks,
kennels, grooming shops, dog shows, training classes, and
veterinary hospitals.
-
Bordetella vaccines provide some protection, but cannot
fully prevent dogs from contracting canine cough.
-
Impossible to fully contain, control or eliminate outbreaks
amongst groups of dogs, regardless of cleanliness and vaccine
requirements.
-
Dogs with little or no regular contact with others are more
likely to contract canine cough when exposed to other dogs.
Social dogs, with frequent exposure to others, have a stronger
immunity.
-
To protect all of our Guests, we incorporate the following:
-
Require
Bordetella vaccines every 6 months, rather than annually;
recommend alternating between injectable and intra-nasal
administration
-
Power wash all Suites every day
-
Wash all exercise/elimination yards a minimum of 4 times a day,
every day
-
Food bowls are heat sterilized after every meal, and never
shared
-
Suites have solid walls between them to limit
cross-contamination
-
Symptomatic dogs are immediately placed in our isolation wards
-
Symptoms usually subside within 7-10 days; veterinary treatment
may shorten this time frame, or lesson the symptoms. Check with
your veterinarian for recommendations.
We must have a copy of your dog’s current vaccinations records,
administered by a licensed veterinarian, on file in order to accept your dog
as a guest at Top Notch Kennels. Self vaccinated or breeder
vaccinated (without additional vaccines given by a veterinarian) dogs and puppies will not be admitted.
Note: We verify
vaccination status on puppies enrolled in our puppy class by
telephone with the veterinarian.
Registration:
We must have a completed Guest Registration form on file along with a
signed copy of our Memorandum of Understanding in order for your dog
to be admitted for Boarding, Daycare or Grooming. You may download
each of these forms below.

Please notify us of changes in your information, such as address,
home and mobile telephone numbers, etc.

Group
Activities:
In order for your dog to be considered for Group Play or Daycare, we
require a temperament evaluation at a 1-time fee of $15.00.
Dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed/neutered in order to
participate in Group Play or Daycare.
We reserve the right to revoke any dog’s group play privileges if we
determine it to be in the best interest of all of our Guests.
To protect all of our Guests, it is imperative that each dog come to
us in good health, free of disease, fleas and ticks. We reserve the
right, if deemed necessary, to bathe your dog, or seek and provide
any needed medical services while under our care. These costs are
the sole responsibility of the dog owner.
