CLASS DESCRIPTION
PREPPING FOR BETTER VETERINARY VISITS: Trips to the Vet can be very stressful for you and your dog, but they don’t have to be! With a little preparation at home, plus some techniques you can use while you are at the Vet’s office, you can help your dog to breeze through his/her appointment! Whether your dog is currently fine with visits to the Vet, or negative experiences have already caused some stress, you and your dog will greatly benefit from a little training, and your vet will appreciate it too! In this 2 hour workshop, we will show you how to prep your dog for getting his/her temperature taken, injections, a general examination with a stethoscope, ear exam and a check of the mouth/teeth, all done in a way that will minimize stress. This is a hand’s on workshop – you will be practicing these techniques with your dog.
Requirements: Puppy Socialization OR Clever Dog level 1 graduates. Bring your dog’s mat (rubber backed bath mat) 3-6 foot leash and regular collar, your clicker, your treat bag and LOTS of high-in value treats (bring more than you think you will need). Crates will be provided; dogs can remain settled on their mats or in a crate when needed.
Prepping For Better Veterinary Visits: class is 1 two-hour session on Wednesday 08/29/2018
Prepping For Better Veterinary Visits: is limited to a maximum number of 12 dogs.
